GG Sweat Hoodie

A hoodie made from Jackman’s signature GG (Garagara) French terry fabric, knitted from thick-count Japanese-spun yarn. The fabric is knitted by slowly spinning the yarn and knitting the fabric on the “Garabo,” a uniquely Japanese spinning machine developed in the early Meiji period and now found at only a few locations in Japan, creating a fabric that is substantial and heavyweight yet has a soft, fluffy feel, with a distinctive uneven texture. For construction, flat-seam stitching is used on the main areas that contact the skin, with the seam allowances lying flat to reduce the feeling of bulk when worn. The design eliminates the drawcord, which can tend to give a casual appearance, and uses a zipper construction that raises the front of the hood. Even without tightening it with a drawcord, the raised hood helps prevent cold air from entering around the neck and improves warmth retention. The zipper teeth are concealed on both sides so that the zipper, which extends up to the neck, does not damage the skin or clothing. A facing reinforcement inspired by baseball uniforms is used around the neckline so that the silhouette remains refined even when the zipper is worn open, creating a new GG Sweat Hoodie that combines Jackman’s DNA with a refined character.
